About the Artist

Remy Pajaczkowski-Russell is an artist and designer working on Gadigal land. His practice is centered around clay and repurposing waste materials to immortalise place and make and imprint of his surroundings.

Remy trained at the National Art School and then completed an apprenticeship under Maya Micenmacher and Nicolas Rousseau in La Borne, France. It was during this time in a traditional French potters village that he developed his love of woodfired domestic ware.  He also went on to work with world leading ceramic design studio, Apparatu in Barcelona.

Since returning to Australia, Remy produces a range of wheel thrown domestic ware along side larger furniture pieces and sculptures.  At its core, Remy's practice concerns itself with the ethical production of pottery on unceded Aboriginal land.
